How best to revise

  • Read regularly. Read anything and everything. Read newspaper articles, letters, flyers, textbooks, stories and poems. Read as much as you can.
  • Practice under timed conditions. Read texts in 10 minutes or less. Find exam inserts and use them to hone your reading skills.
  • Develop your knowledge of the questions that come up in the exams (they are always the same) and how to respond to specific questions.
  • Practice and rehearse your extended writing. Why not go in with a plan?

Additional information

This is not just a skills exam - you can revise for it. You need to develop your reading ability constantly and you need to know the questions that are going to come up and how to answer them. Practice is paramount and (unquestionably) makes perfect.
