‘Proud to be PRIMET’
Colne Primet Academy recently hosted its annual star awards, bringing together current students, proud families, and distinguished alumni for an evening dedicated to celebrating achievement, ambition, and community spirit.
The event featured a keynote from Simon Dixon, a former student and founder of Hatmill Supply Chain & Logistics. Simon returned to inspire the next generation, sharing his journey and encouraging students to pursue their dreams and embrace the values that define the Primet community.
Senior Prefects from Year 11 joined staff on stage to present awards to students who exemplify the school’s core values: progression, respect, inclusivity, motivation, expressiveness, and togetherness. The ceremony also honoured students who have moved on to college and apprenticeships, recognising their outstanding contributions, progression, and academic attainment.
Guests enjoyed vibrant performances, including a rendition of “Thriller” and two dynamic choral speaking and movement pieces, showcasing the creative talents of Primet students.
Reflecting on the evening, Mrs Pilkington, principal of Colne Primet Academy, said: “Colne Municipal Hall provided a fantastic setting to celebrate the achievements of our current and past students. it was great to be able to celebrate the achievements of our class of 2025 and our current students with so many friends and family. Everyone was left feeling incredibly Proud to be Primet after celebrating the achievements of our students and hearing about their aspirations for the future.”
