‘Proud to be PRIMET’
In-year admissions are admissions to school that take place outside the normal admissions rounds i.e. Reception and Year 7.
Living in Area
If you already live in the area and want to move your child from their current local school to our school, or have just moved into the area and are no longer able to travel to their previous school, you should download and complete our In-Year Admissions form and return directly to our school.
New to Country
If you are new to the country and require a school place, you can download our application form below to complete and return directly. You can also seek support from East Lancashire Learning Information Exchange (ELLIE), who can also help with completing the form, and ensure you have the support you need. Your application will be acknowledged upon receipt, and we will advise you of the outcome within a maximum of 15 days.
Where places are available, but we have more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria (which can be found in the Determined Admissions Policy for 2025-26 PDF below) will be applied, to ensure the correct child/children are offered the places.
Admission Arrangements for 2025-2026
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list and you have the right to appeal. Please click here for appeal information. Please note, that the waiting list does not guarantee a place at our school and if your child is currently not in education you should either make an appeal to our school and/or apply for a place at an alternative school which may be made directly or through Lancashire County Council Pupil Access Team.
Applications for Year 7 places in September 2026 can be made on the Lancashire County Council website from 1 September 2025 until 31st October 2025.
Emails informing parents of whether or not their child has been allocated a place will be sent out by the Local Authority on the national offer day which is: Monday 2nd March 2026.
The Determined Criteria for Admission Arrangements PDF below details our September 2026 admissions criteria.
Following national offer day on Monday 2nd March 2026, if you named Colne Primet Academy as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you will be sent a letter from the school providing further details as to why it wasn’t possible to allocate a place.
All unsuccessful applicants have a right to appeal against the decision not to offer a place to an independent appeal panel. You can find out more about the appeals process below.
Admission Arrangements for September 2026-2027
